Dear Camperworld Members:

We have received many calls of concern and support regarding the recent fire at Nebo Loop Resort. Many of you have offered to help with the cleanup and reconstruction of the park. We thank you from the bottom of our heart for your kindness and support. We encourage any member who would like to help at the park to contact Barry and Diane Bassett and their staff who handled this very difficult situation in a very professional manner, and have worked very hard to restore order to the park very quickly.

Please note we have reopened Nebo Loop Resort as of Monday, August 6th. We encourage you to use the park. The campground is still very beautiful (see photos of the park after the fire). All utilities have been restored to the park and to the campsites. All cabins except one were untouched by the fire and are fully usable. Much of the park is pretty much the same as it always has been. Most of the trees in the park are as green and beautiful as they were before. The grassy areas are very green and gorgeous. the restroom as shower building on the west side of the park is totally usable and was not damaged by the fire. Luckily, the park manager's home received only very minor damage.

However, many of the trees outside the park have been scorched or burned. The office, store and restroom building at the entrance to the park, and the game room building were burnt to the ground. The pool equipment room was also burnt--so the pool is not usable for the time being. We have cleaned up the burnt rubble from the buildings, and we plan to start rebuilding as soon as possible. We plan to have everything rebuilt and have all the facilities usable by sometime next spring. We feel that we can make the park even better than it was before.
